How to use the Link Intersect report

In this report, we show who's linking to one or more domains, URLs, subdomains (e.g., blog.domain.com) or subfolders (e.g., domain.com/blog) but not another.

Below are some actionable ways to use this report.

See who’s linking to competitors, but not you

In the top section, enter up to ten competing websites. Then, enter your domain in the bottom section.

Hit “Show link opportunities."

Right away, you can see that over 170,000 domains link to one or more of our competitors, but not to us.

To see only hyper-relevant results, use the Intersections filter to show who is linking to multiple or all your competitors.

Analyze the results to figure out why these sites are linking to your competitors, but not you. Reach out where appropriate.

See who's linking to the current top-ranking pages, but not your page

The pages that outrank you likely have more links than you. So, why not see who’s linking to those pages, but not yours?

Search for your target keyword in Google and plug a few of the top-ranking pages into Link Intersect. Enter your page in the bottom section.

Here, almost 1,000 sites are linking to at least one of the current top-ranking pages, but not ours.

For hyper-relevant results, change the “Intersections” filter to show only sites that are linking to multiple or all competing pages.

As they’re linking to pages on topics you write about, these are excellent link prospects. You may want to build relationships with the site owners or authors.

Find local citation opportunities

Citations are online mentions of your business, which usually display your business name, address, and phone number—collectively known as NAP (Name, Address, Phone).

To find citation opportunities, go to Google and search for competing businesses (e.g., plumbers in Sheffield.)

Copy and paste some of the top-ranking websites into the top section. Enter your site into the bottom section.
